The Food N Love food pantry program, is a true labor of love that feeds more than 200 families each month. The CDC staff along with dedicated community volunteers gather to put together bags of groceries for needy families, seniors, and the homeless population within the city of San Bernardino. What makes this program different is that we talk to and intentionally connect with those we serve as a way to form relationships and build report with community members. What better way to rebuild the strength of San Bernardino than through relationships that work.

Our Mission

To rebuild the strength of our local community by assisting at-risk individuals and families overcome poverty and other barriers that prevent them from living healthy self-sustained lives.

This we do in the following ways:

  1. REVITALIZING - The residential sector by: A) Helping low income and credit challenged individuals and families to purchase their own homes and B) Purchasing homes for low-income families to rent (future)
  2. RESTORING  - the economy by 1) Creating jobs and filling them with San Bernardino residents, and 2) Providing community investment activities which assists citizens to develop and open businesses to resuscitate the economy and draws visitors to a thriving San Bernardino
  3. RENEWING - The hope and ability of citizens to live independent and positive producing lives by providing them with learning and development opportunities, resources and wrap around services.

Our Philosophy

We respond to the community through innovative solutions and partnerships that draws together the community and utilizes its strengths to overcome deficiencies and meet the needs of San Bernardino citizens.   We move away from the widely held belief that Community Development agencies are driven & motivated to bring change based on what’s wrong with their community.  We are strong and make the community stronger by connecting with community partners and its citizens.

We desire to create a strong foundation for problem solving by finding and utilizing the hidden treasures and resources available within it's citizens. In this way the community is not waiting for outside help to come and rescue, as a result the people are made capable and self-sufficient.
